Objectives and Activities

Following up and building on the NETAD1), VYNSPI I2), and VYNSPI II3) projects, the project aims at all professions and field-specific domains pertaining to the prevention of risk behaviour. These issues will be addressed by means of a comprehensive body of customised and environment-specific activities and a wide range of strategies applied across the sectors of the communities under consideration.

The main objective of the project is to develop three unique evidence-based guidelines for preventing mental disorders among children and adolescents with reference to the ICD-10 classification.

Another objective is to create an effective network of professionals with access to up-to-date/adapted/original manuals and guidelines. Professionals will be trained in conducting both specialist interventions/educational programmes and training programmes for other professionals which will give rise to an independent infrastructure.

In more general terms, the project is concerned with the configuration of a system of prevention in the locations under consideration which may facilitate early diagnosis, including brief interventions, in addition to preventing the development of mental disorders. Each location will thus feature a network of professionals who will work together to provide coordinated and effective prevention, early diagnosis, and referral services.
